Breaking - Source: Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem Exploring Monastery in WV

Update: RORATE CÆLI has posted this story as well.

I received an email and have been asked to share this news. I have modified it slightly.

The Most Reverend Michael J. Bransfield, Bishop of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, WV, has given permission to the Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem (CRNJ) to reside in Charles Town, WV for a probationary period of two years. More details will follow.

In thanksgiving for this great gift from God, and in appreciation for all the support from the faithful, Dom Daniel celebrated a Mass today, Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 9:00 am, at the Old St. James Church (311 S. George St., Charles Town, WV).

The Canons are in immediate need of funds in order to purchase the property adjacent to the Old St. James Church. Anyone wishing to consider a tax-deductible contribution, or who has ideas or expertise regarding grants or institutes which support the preservation and advancement of the Latin Mass, may contact those coordinating this effort in Charles Town. The faithful interested in this endeavor may join this Yahoo! Group where information is shared among interested parties.

More details will follow as they become available.

Praise God!
