Fascinating stories on some things liturgical...

Father John Zuhlsdorf dissects an interview of Msgr. Guido Marini with columnist John Allen of the NCR. The posts are fascinating. See them here , and here . There is also movement on the TAC ordinariate in the U.S. as mentioned here , and also here by Anna Arco. Enjoy!

WDTPRS >> 24 April: Pontifical TLM at the National Shrine in Washington, DC

Father John Zuhlsdorf has now posted a story on the Pontifical Mass coming to Washington, D.C. At 1:00 pm on 24 April at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC there is to be a Pontifical Mass celebrated by His Eminence Dario Card. Castrillon Hoyos, former President of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei. This will be the 5th anniversary of the election of His Holiness Benedict XVI . There is a great deal more information located here including links on Twitter and on Facebook.

The Feast of the Presentation - February 2nd, 2009 (Candlemas)

Father John Zuhlsdorf has an incredible 17 posts since I checked yesterday. He seems to see the overall picture of the firestorm that has been ignited by the lifting of the excommunications by the Holy Father and the reaction. I will present a sampling of links to illustrate this overview. Others are also seeing this in its overall form. The seeping cracks are splitting open Wymyn whine at Benedict XVI about SSPX excomms being lifted Italian priest: lifting the excomms… a rape of the Church by the Pope The hits keep rolling in SSPX Bp. WDTPRS >> Catholic Herald on desecrated Host

Father John Zuhlsdorf posts an article from the Catholic Herald by Anna Arco and then comments on the post . The consecrated host was apparently obtained from the Brompton Oratory. The comments to this post are excellent. Needless to say, Masses of Reparation were said. I, for one, suggest continued and daily prayers for those who perpetrate such deeds.

WDTPRS >> QUAERITUR: Before the Council we had the TLM, so why did things go wrong

This is a second article of interest today. It is detailed enough that I placed it as a separate link . The questioner has an excellent comment. Fr. John then tries to get to the details of the matter which are not simple. It is worthy of note as a starting point for a LONG discussion.

WDTPRS >> Card. Kasper at Lambeth calls for a New Oxford Movement

Fr. John Zuhlsdorf examines the marvelous report in www.Chiesa Forum by Sandro Magister posted today (link in Early Roundup and also here ) in great detail. He then adds his commentary which is quite valuable. I strongly suggest reading both Magister's complete article on Cardinal Kasper's address and the analysis on WDTPRS.

WDTPRS >> ANGELUS: Interviews SSPX excomm’d bishops (part III: R. Williamson)

This is the third "installment" in the series of interviews of SSPX Bishops presented by Father John Zuhlsdorf . He has already presented interviews (and extensive comments on their replies) on Fellay and Tissier de Mallerais . Here is his interview with Williamson.
