The Hermeneutic of Continuity: English bishop receives standing ovation at traditional liturgy conference

Father Tim Finigan (or "His Hermeneuticalness" as Fr. Zuhlsdorf refers to him) has written an excellent post on the wrap-up of the Liturgical conference at Merton . Don't miss the amiable summary. It is heartening that Bishop McMahon, Bishop of Nottingham, was highly supportive of this conference and came to speak to the attendees. In his speech, Bishop McMahon unequivocally affirmed his support for Summorum Pontificum , for the liturgical "project" of Pope Benedict and for a conference at which priests were learning to celebrate the usus antiquior of the Roman Rite. Excellent! Read the story here .

Who could pass up posting an entry dealing with Beer, Belloc and Pelagians all in the same story!

Fr. Tim Finigan of " The Hermeneutic of Continuity " discusses the "Blessing of Beer" in Blackfen and then continues on with a rousing chorus from Hilaire Belloc himself. [...] And thank the Lord For the temporal sword, And for howling heretics, too; And whatever good things our Christendom brings, But especially the barley-brew! With my row-ti-tow, ti-oodly-ow Especially the barley-brew! This is my kind of blog! " creaturam istam cerevisiae"
