This Sunday – 10 October – Saint Mary, Mother of God Church at 5th and H streets, NW, in Washington, D.C. will observe its patronal feast with two High Masses for the external solemnity of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (11 October).

The 20th Sunday after Pentecost will be commemorated with a second collect, secret and postcommunion. This will be the second year in a row two High Masses have been offered on the same day for the patronal feast of the parish.

* 9 a.m. Missa Cantata; Monsignor Andrew Wadsworth, celebrant. Gregorian chant (Mass IX) by the parish schola of men.

* 5 p.m. Missa Solemnis; Monsignor Charles Pope, celebrant; Deacon Richard Walker, deacon; Deacon Leandro Espinosa, subdeacon. Gregorian chant (Mass IX) by the parish schola of men.
