Morning Roundup - Feria after Epiphany - Feria quarta infra Hebdomadam I post Epiphaniam - Missa 'In Excélso Throno' - January 10th, 2018
Traditional Latin Mass Calendar - January 8th 2018 to January 14th, 2018 - Ordo for the Week
- ABYSSUS ABYSSUM INVOCAT / DEEP CALLS TO DEEP (Bishop Emeritus Rene Gracida) >> “Mercy” is invoked today to cover a multitude of sins, but the Church has never pitted mercy against law or justice. This is the ancient error of antinomianism (nothing new under the sun). Mercy in the New Covenant is extended to the repentant sinner, not to the sinner who clings to his sin. Mercy will be given seventy times seven times to the sinner who repents and falls again out of human weakness, but only as long as he genuinely intended and intends to stop sinning. There has never been any disagreement about this—until now.
