Item One: " Vernacular Masses but with Latin consecration ?" (This was reported by the NLM and RORATE CAELI. Fr. Zuhlsdorf's take is an interesting read). Item Two: " SSPX-UK: Letter of District Superior for JULY " (Well, you'll have to read it for yourself...)

Catholic World News: The Forum: What next for the Vatican-SSPX talks?

Phil Lawler of Catholic World News posts a very good roundup of where things now stand as far as anyone can determine who is not on the "inside ." Personally, I have not stopped praying that the request of the Holy Father for normalization will occur. I am presuming the time-honored maxim whether accurate or not: "those who know aren't speaking, and those who are speaking don't really know." May God grant us reconciliation, and may Bishop Fellay respond in a favorable way to a simple request from the Vicar of Christ.

WDTPRS: The Tablet reacts to Card. Castrillon’s Mass and remarks in London

Father Zuhlsdorf posts an article from the Tablet (U.K.) by Elena Curti concerning Cardinal Castrillon's comments at his impromptu press conference . It is a very interesting post.

RORATE CAELI: Cardinal Castrillón in the Archdiocese of Westminster

Earlier today, I posted a long narrative from The New Liturgical Movement which was an account of the visit of Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos to England . The Latin Mass Society of England and Wales has asked RORATE CAELI to post the links here to the "official documents" that the Society wishes to make available to the public . [I suspect that this is because the Society has been inundated for more information (even this little blog got a lot of traffic from the U.K. seeking information).] I am posting this link because it really is a link to the major and definitive repository.

WDTPRS >> More on what Card. Castrillon Hoyos said to the press in London about the TLM (If you check the post immediately below, you will see that what the Cardinal said to the press is not what was released in his formal comments to the Latin Mass Society as transcribed ; that needs to be stated clearly) WDTPRS >> How should people receive Communion? NLM: Full text of Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos address to the Latin Mass Society

Earlier today, Shawn Tribe of The New Liturgical Movement posted an article that emphasized that what Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos was stating was not a new or de novo juridical finding or decision . Instead, His Eminence was stating the overt will of Pope Benedict XVI as stated several times by the Cardinal himself as well as the Holy Father in the Motu Proprio . Here is the full transcript of his interview with a link to the homily given . The point of fact is, however, that those who do not follow the will of the Pope are depriving the faithful of the "Gregorian Rite" which is their heritage. Here is a part of his address which Mr. Tribe emphasized in bold. Let me say this plainly: the Holy Father wants the ancient use of the Mass to become a normal occurrence in the liturgical life of the Church so that all of Christ’s faithful – young and old – can become familiar with the older rites and draw from their tangible beauty and transcendence. The Holy Father wants this

WDTPRS: The Westminster TLM: sign of a “cultural revolution”

Father John Zuhlsdorf has found yet another source which seems to emphasize the "seismic shift" that Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos' comments to four reporters have had in many locations. In this post today, he comments about the "buzz" that was created by the comments of the Head of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei . It is a MUST READ. The "power of silence" indeed is powerful!

Ten Star Edition: WDTPRS - UK: Card. Castrillon Hoyos - TLM in “Not many parishes – all parishes”!

Only time will tell, but we may mark this day as the coming of the Gregorian Rite . This is what Damian Thompson states that Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos of the PCED today called the "Usus Antiquior ." The news has been coming in all day, but Fr. Zuhlsdorf carries the latest comments on this story . The part he emphasized in his title is above: “ Not many parishes – all parishes ." He has an excellent commentary and gives a background to the story. The Creative Minority Report gives more "color" to how it happened . In a story called "The Moment - Damian Thompson Speaks," the background is described . It has been an astounding day: a Pontifical Mass at Westminster, the Cathedral packed to capacity, a press conference with Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos who assuredly speaks with the consent of His Holiness, and more information coming in to buttress the early reports. I find it incredible that as RORATE CAELI pointed out earlier, the Novus Ordo was

Telegraph.co.UK: Latin mass to return to England and Wales

Damian Thompson of the Telegraph.co.UK is reporting today that the Latin Mass will return to England and Wales . The traditional Latin Mass – effectively banned by Rome for 40 years – is to be reintroduced into every Roman Catholic parish in England and Wales, the senior Vatican cardinal in charge of Latin liturgy said at a press conference in London today. In addition, all English seminaries must teach trainee priests how to say the old Mass so that they can celebrate it in all parishes. Catholic congregations throughout the world will receive special instruction on how to appreciate the old services, formerly known as the Tridentine Rite. Read the story here .

Visitors ask...FSSP Ordinations in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 30th

For some reason, many visitors are unable to find this marvelous link to What Does the Prayer Really Say which has a gorgeous photo-montage of the entire Ordination in Lincoln, NE taken from EWTN . Fr. Zuhlsdorf also provides commentary.
