Friendly reminder: Daylight Savings Time Ends November 1st

Friends, this is from the Wikipedia site on Time in the United States : The Energy Policy Act specifies that continuation of daylight saving time beyond 2008 is subject to favorable evaluation of the energy savings attained. Unless the expanded DST period is rescinded, clocks will be set ahead one hour at 2 a.m. on the following start dates and set back one hour at 2 a.m. on these ending dates : The ending date for DST in 2009 shown in the table is November 1st, 2009 . That means at 2 AM, clocks should be turned BACK one hour. Please take care of this before turning in this evening and collect an extra hour of shut eye!

WDTPRS >> Bishops behind “Bring back our BLACK!”

This is excellent news! His Excellency, the Most Reverend R. Walter Nickless of Sioux City, Iowa, feels as we do that "black" is appropriate as a liturgical color for expressing "mourning, penitence, sorrow and solemnity ." I am delighted that he feels this way. An entire generation or two has grown up without black vestments! While I am at it, TURN BACK YOUR CLOCKS ONE HOUR TONIGHT if you are in the "Daylight Savings Time Zone." Mass begins on time, whether you arrive an hour late or not!
