Defend Your Health Care - Betsy McCaughey

I just heard a radio interview by Senator Fred Thompson of Betsy McCaughey, founder of the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths and a former New York lieutenant governor. She has read the entire Health Care bill and is incredibly informed on the House and Senate versions. Here is her latest post of July 24th . Here is a previous post on the Assault on Seniors . There are more links on her site. Get knowledable and informed facts on the Health Care Bill being pushed through Congress . The interview rattled me, I can assure you! Ignatius Insight Scoop - "It is a rebellion": Alfred Delp's Timeless Message Against Euthanasia

Carl Olson posts a link to an important story about Fr. Alfred Delp . Father Delp's listeners knew well the events to which he referred, and it was clear to them that the young Jesuit was anything but "accustomed" or "unmoved" himself. [3] Those who worried about his safety were right – he would be with them only three years before his arrest and eventual martyrdom. They would remember him as a "voice calling in the wilderness", a "prophet" whose message was timeless. His powerful message against euthanasia has never been published in English, and is certainly of interest today, so we present it here for the first time. Read the entire the entire story here .

In the Light of the Law: Proposal: Impose excommunication for euthanasia

Dr. Edward N. Peters of In the Light of the Law puts forth the proposal that those who commit euthanasia should be excommunicated . For some months I have been researching and writing an article on euthanasia in canon law. Simply put, I recommend that euthanasia be made an excommunicable offense under the 1983 Code of Canon Law . I hope his proposal is given serious consideration in light of his arguments .

CNA: Pope reaffirms Church’s stance against euthanasia

The Catholic News Agency reports that the Holy Father today reaffirmed the Church's stance against euthanasia : Pope Benedict received participants in an international congress entitled: "Close by the Incurable Sick Person and the Dying: Scientific and Ethical Aspects" today and reiterated that the Church is against all forms of euthanasia . The event which brought the specialists to the Vatican is being promoted by the Pontifical Academy for Life as part of their general assembly. The gathering will take place in the Vatican over the coming days. [...] Benedict XVI also spoke of the larger societal dimension of respecting those who are ill or dying. All society "is called to respect the life and dignity of the seriously ill and the dying", he said. "Though aware of the fact that 'it is not science that redeems man', all society, and in particular the sectors associated with medical science, are duty bound to express the solidarity of love, and t
