Newsflash | The Guadalupe Radio Network is bringing Catholic Radio to Washington D.C.

Eric Sammons of the blog, The Divine Life , brought this to our attention last week. Here is the update to the Guadalupe Radio Network website : The Guadalupe Radio Network is bringing Catholic Radio to Washington D.C. With great thanks and praise to almighty God as we want to announce that the nation's capitol will soon be the home of another Guadalupe Radio Network station. On May 5th WMET 1160 AM will begin broadcasting Catholic Radio 24 hours a day. And what an amazing impact this station will have in bringing souls closer to our Lord and the holy Saints, an impact that has the potential to reach far beyond the immediate listening area. WMET is a powerful 50,000 watt AM radio station which will blanket all of Washington D.C. and the surrounding area with the beautiful message of Christ's Good News through His One, Holy Catholic Church. In fact, the signal covers Washington DC and stretches on into Baltimore, Annapolis and beyond Arlington VA, along with doze

Father John Corapi, SOLT - A Call for a Rosary Novena

This appears on Fr. Corapi's website and was in his last weekly email . I urge all to consider his request! No other issue, not all other issues taken together, can constitute a proportionate reason for voting for candidates that intend to preserve and defend this holocaust of innocent human life that is abortion. I strongly urge every one of you to make a Novena and pray the Rosary to Our Lady of Victory between October 27th and Election Day, November 4th. Pray that God’s will be done and the most innocent and utterly vulnerable of our brothers and sisters will be protected from this barbaric and grossly sinful blight on society that is abortion. No woman, and no man, has the right to choose to murder an innocent human being. Amen!

Catholic Online >> Guest Opinion: Fr. Corapi on the Future of a "Once Great Nation"?

Fr. John A. Corapi, S.O.L.T. offers an opinion on Catholic Online that pulls no punches . Here is a brief quote: [...] From artificial contraception to abortion to partial-birth abortion, then on to infanticide we march toward the abyss of oblivion, a society marked for death. Is it any wonder we can rationalize the killing of the elderly or the sick through euthanasia? The tragic murder of Terri Schiavo is a logical extension of a morally numb society's mad march toward its own suicidal death. She wasn't sick. She wasn't dying. They murdered her, starved her to death - one of the cruelest forms of death. She was innocent, yet subjected to a most cruel and unusual punishment. Why? Because she was helpless? Because she was too much trouble, too hard to look at? As Abraham Lincoln asserted, "If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." We are dying by suicide, m

Father C. John McCloskey, III, STD: A Lifetime Reading List

Here is some news for a beautiful Sunday... Father C. John McCloskey of the Prelature of Opus Dei has a remarkable background that began on Wall Street . His biography is quite astounding as indicated here . Stories on those souls who have converted to the Faith under his spiritual guidance are also numerous . Fr. John has what he calls a Catholic Lifetime Reading Plan that I printed out years ago. While some may quibble that "this should be added" or "that should be deleted," the plan is an excellent one. It contains some of the great works of Roman Catholic literature from famous novelists, saints, Popes and apologists. Here is a just a brief look : St. Catherine – Little Talks with God (modernized version of "The Dialogues") – Spiritual Classics Cervantes – Don Quixote – Literary Classics Chautard – Soul of Apostolate – Spiritual Reading Chesterton – Everlasting Man – Spiritual Classics Chesterton – Orthodoxy – Spiritual Classics Chesterton –
