Whispers in the Loggia: "...And With Your Recognitio"

No posting until this afternoon. I have a baptism to attend. In the meantime, Rocco Palmo nicely sums up the confirmation on the Liturgical translations . There has been no confirmation yet of the CWNews.com story concerning "pro multis" being translated as "for many." I pray that story didn't "jump the gun!" I've been praying for that change for years!

On Liturgical Issues - June 17th, 2008 (WDTPRS)

Fr. Zuhlsdorf has finally had the opportunity to comment on the article written by John Allen who recalls the "play-by-play" of the vote of the USCCB on whether to accept the new translation of the Propers for the Seasons . He makes some rather interesting points that I had missed. Fr. Zuhlsdorf also has high praise for Bishop Seratelli of Paterson, NJ who has published something about translation on his Diocesan website . They are both very interesting reads.

Whispers in the Loggia: Athwart "Bondage," Yelling "Stop"

Rocco Palmo of " Whispers in the Loggia " discusses the US Conference of Bishops . To cite Mr. Palmo: "In keeping with longstanding tradition, however, no meeting of the body would be complete without some showdown on the liturgy -- a topic that, in recent years, has focused on the approval of a new wholesale translation of the Roman Missal, which current projections seem to be eyeing for implementation in late 2010."
