WDTPRS >> Pope Benedict annoyed at studied prelatial indifference? (the title comes from a story by Damian Thompson who first announced the essential comments of Cardinal Castrillon at the impromptu press conference; whether this is fact remains to be seen as Fr. Zuhlsdorf states) WDTPRS >> PREVIEW: A GREAT new publication from Angelus Press! I tip my hat to Amy Wellborn who has a link to this marvelous blog . The Benedict in America blog is a treasure trove of information, has all his Papal addresses in the US, and links to lots of other great items. It is a chronology of his entire visit. Papal Mass Readings at Nationals Stadium

A great many of you are trying to find the Mass Readings for the Papal Mass at Nationals Stadium. Please check the EWTN website here . You will notice on the right under, "Words," a link that reads " Liturgical Texts for the Apostolic Visit ." Clicking this will give you the PDF version. Your browser may also be able to view the pages in HTML. I believe this is from the Vatican and has the Vespers service and all liturgies. There are also the words of Pope Benedict to be said at "Ground Zero."

The New Liturgical Movement: The Logical End toward which the Altar Arrangement of Benedict XVI Tends

Shawn Tribe of The New Liturgical Movement has a really nice article on the " conversi ad Dominum " motif that Pope Benedict has been practicing as he celebrates Mass . His Holiness does not always use the " ad orientem " posture for Mass but makes do with what the situation allows. Shawn shows this in a very nice photoessay that demonstrate what the Holy Father is saying in a manifest way. The Benedictines have taken the "hint!"

Morning Roundup - Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Gregor Kollmorgen of The New Liturgical Movement has some "insider" information from Father Sean Finnegan of Heralds of the Gospel as to why the Papal Liturgies have changed so noticeably. Read his take on this here . Father John Zuhlsdorf of WDTPRS has posts (a) updating info on the Holy Father's new pastoral staff , (b) a marvelous article on Cardinal Arinze, Prefect of CDWDS, and his take on inculturation , and (c) a " quaeritur " concerning whether failing to put water in the chalice with the wine makes the consecration invalid .

Divine Office Online and Terrible TV Coverage of Papal Liturgies

Jeffrey Tucker of the New Liturgical Movement has found a gem: the Divine Office is now online ! Note that I have added this link to the menu on the right to my Blogroll and Favorite Websites under " Divinum Officium ". Father John Zuhlsdorf has found an entry on Sandro Magister's blog in which the gentleman decries the TV coverage of Papal Liturgies. Read more here .

Two great stories...

There are two great stories today that are really "must" reads . The first is posted by Fr. John Zuhlsdorf on " What Does The Prayer Really Say ?" and pertains to outdoor Papal Masses . The second is posted by New Catholic on " Rorate Caeli " and brings great news on what seems to be a "permanent solution" to the TLM in "EWTN-land" as he calls it. Run, don't walk to these sites!
