AmericanPapist:: Pope trip: Friday Mar 28 Roundup

Thomas Peters of AmericanPapist does a really nice job of gathering five stories germane to the Holy Father's visit in April . One is the story posted below from The New Liturgical Movement . Highly recommended !

Palm Sunday Early Roundup

May you all have a blessed and faith-filled Holy Week! Thomas Peters of AmericanPapist reports that Father Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus, was recognized for his "heroic virtues" by the Holy Father . Father John Zuhlsdorf of " What Does the Prayer Really Say ," shows the new Papal Cross used by the Holy Father this morning . Whether this implies that the Pope John Paul II cross has been completely retired is not known.

Things keep rolling in this Friday!

Thomas Peters of AmericanPapist reports that Archbishop Burke has pronounced "two more" excommunications meaning "five" in two days. Go to his site for details! Jeffrey Tucker of the New Liturgical Movement has a thoughtful post on the attitude and the sociological details of those of us who watched the virtual disappearance of the "Latin Mass" in the 60's . He entitles his post, "Were the Catholic People Happy About the Abandonment of the Old Mass?" Yes, I was there and lived through it if you wondered about that...

AmericanPapist: Report: Abp. Donald Wuerl at DC Theology on Tap

Thomas Peters, son of Canonist Edward Peters, is studying for his Master's in Theology in Washington, D.C. He writes an interesting blog called American Papist: Not Your Average Catholic . Last night, he attended a "Theology on Tap" at which Archbishop Donald Wuerl was guest speaker. Please read on her e . Note, Tom said "the fire marshall would not have been pleased." My translation: HUGE CROWD.
