General Roman Calendar of 1962

I have indicated that I use the Ordo of the F.S.S.P. and the Baronius Daily Missal exclusively. The F.S.S.P. Ordo is very reasonable in price and the Baronius Missal has an extensive list of Propers for Countries and/or Dioceses with additional Masses for such saints as Mother Cabrini, for example. The F.S.S.P. liturgical calendar is linked in the header of this blog and can be found here . This calendar (currently out-of-date) is used by the F.S.S.P.'s Seminary of "Our Lady of Guadalupe" in Denton, NE. Note that the F.S.S.P. bookstore is also linked on this site and has calendars and Ordos that are very modest in price. For those seeking the "poor man's" version , the ubiquitous Wikipedia has a calendar found here . This is "bare bones" since all the moveable feasts are missing! Those, however, can be found at this link which was posted by our generous friend "Tridentine Avenger." He has done us quite a service! The Wikipedia cal...

2010 Traditional Liturgical Calendars are now available for order from The Seraphim Company, Inc., P.O. Box 26600, Colorado Springs, CO, 80936-6600. The calendars are on heavy-bond paper with a spiral ring binding and are 11 inches by 17 inches when fully opened. I have used this calendar and it is excellent.

Visitors ask..."Feria"

I have begun to post dates using the Liturgical calendar provided by the F.S.S.P. at the Seminary of Our Lady of Guadalupe which is linked above in the header. This is because I was receiving requests for an "online traditional calendar." I've also recently posted where someone might purchase a "wall calendar" or an Ordo for use at home. If you use the Traditional Calendar, April 23rd reveals the following: 23- Feria in Paschaltide - 4th class or St. George - 4th class. For those raised strictly on the Liturgical Calendar post Vatican-II, this is very confusing! First, what is a "feria", why is it in "Paschaltide" and why are there "classes" of apparent Feasts? Some of the biggest changes that occurred post Vatican II were the changes made to the Liturgical Calendar. Not only were dates of feasts changed, new saints added and three cycles of readings added to the Liturgical Year itself, but the very essence of the year was ...

Visitors ask...Traditional Latin Rite Calendars (1962)

An item that still appears in the search queues is "Traditional Latin Calendar." I have the link to the F.S.S.P.'s Liturgical Calendar used at the F.S.S.P. Seminary of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the header above, but I too like the wall type. The St. John Cantius webstore offers the 2009 Liturgical Ordo which is the sine qua non for a Sacristy or for a priest who celebrates the TLM with any frequency. The Sisters of Carmel offer a Traditional Catholic calendar for a modest price . I am using that one. The Saint Gregory Society also has a new Traditional Liturgical Calendar . I am sure there are others, but this should give you a good choice.

Visitors ask...Traditional Liturgical Calendar Online?

I have had a few requests searching for the "Traditional Liturgical Calendar Online." It was posted as a link here, but I grant you that it could be missed easily . The calendar for 2008 is linked to the F.S.S.P. website of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary . Very useful, no? The link can be found in the right menu.
