CatholicCitizens.org: A Brief Catechism for Catholic Voters from EWTN

Catholic Citizens of Illinois posts a brief Catechism for voters written by Fr. Stephen F. Torraco, PhD . Fr. Torraco posts in a "question-answer" format that makes comprehension easy. Here is a brief example: 4. If I have strong feelings or opinions in favor of a particular candidate, even if he is pro-abortion, why may I not vote for him? As explained in question 1 above, neither your feelings nor your opinions are identical with your conscience. Neither your feelings nor your opinions can take the place of your conscience. Your feelings and opinions should be governed by your conscience. If the candidate about whom you have strong feelings or opinions is pro-abortion, then your feelings and opinions need to be corrected by your correctly informed conscience, which would tell you that it is wrong for you to allow your feelings and opinions to give lesser weight to the fact that the candidate supports a moral evil. This is essential moral theology and worth reading . I&

Shawn Tribe has additional great news from Toronto. In a post tonight entitled, "More from Toronto: Archbishop celebrates Oratorian Mass of Ordination in Latin, Ad Orientem ," he describes even more "reform of the reform." He has a link to an article in the TorontoCatholic.blog.

Visitors (British) ask...Traditional Latin Mass Online (or YouTube)

The Pontifical Mass yesterday at Westminster has stirred real interest in the TLM in quite a few folks. If you wish to "see" a TLM Mass online, you can try this link which I posted a while back and which is in the right menu . Search for the online video . This is the best I have seen. For audio, this is from the Latin Mass Society in Ireland and is divided into parts . The acoustics are marvelous. Here is a link to the "rubrics." A Mass video is a great bet. The one from the F.S.S.P. should be excellent.

Visitors ask...Traditional Liturgical Calendar Online?

I have had a few requests searching for the "Traditional Liturgical Calendar Online." It was posted as a link here, but I grant you that it could be missed easily . The calendar for 2008 is linked to the F.S.S.P. website of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary . Very useful, no? The link can be found in the right menu.

Ten Star Edition: WDTPRS - UK: Card. Castrillon Hoyos - TLM in “Not many parishes – all parishes”!

Only time will tell, but we may mark this day as the coming of the Gregorian Rite . This is what Damian Thompson states that Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos of the PCED today called the "Usus Antiquior ." The news has been coming in all day, but Fr. Zuhlsdorf carries the latest comments on this story . The part he emphasized in his title is above: “ Not many parishes – all parishes ." He has an excellent commentary and gives a background to the story. The Creative Minority Report gives more "color" to how it happened . In a story called "The Moment - Damian Thompson Speaks," the background is described . It has been an astounding day: a Pontifical Mass at Westminster, the Cathedral packed to capacity, a press conference with Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos who assuredly speaks with the consent of His Holiness, and more information coming in to buttress the early reports. I find it incredible that as RORATE CAELI pointed out earlier, the Novus Ordo was

It is linked in this post (key words in search strings: Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos, Seminarians to be trained in the TLM, every parish to have a TLM, press conference following the Pontifical High Mass). I cannot attest to this as nobody seems to have a transcript as yet. This is based on one post only!
