Catholic Review Online: Cathedral announces concert series

The Catholic Review Online has announced the Concert Series for the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen . Here is the lineup posted: Sept. 21 - 5:30 p.m. – Ronn McFarlane, lutenist, will perform and give a lecture about the lute. Oct. 12 – 5:30 p.m. – Solemn Choral Vespers; Cathedral Choir performs works including Magnificat (Collegium Regale) and the Te Deum (Collegium Regale) by Herbert Howells. October 26- 5:30 p.m. – Mr. Sansone will perform an organ recital featuring works by Edward Elgar, Bach and Flor Peeters. Nov. 23 - 5:30 p.m. – Jonathan Moyer will present the final organ recital in a series of four performances featuring the entire organ works of Olivier Messiaen. Nov. 30 - 5:30 p.m. - A Festival of Lessons and Carols for Advent featuring the St. Stephen’s Choir of Men and Boys will be offered. Catholic Review Online: Delaware bishops have been low-key with Biden’s church involvement

The Catholic Review carries an article by Patricia Zapor of the Catholic News Service concerning the "low key" role Bishops have played regarding Senator Joseph Biden . Bishop W. Francis Malooly of Baltimore is to take over the Diocese of Wilmington on September 8th. Please pray for the Bishop! He needs all the prayers and support that he can receive!

Last week, H.E. Archbishop Edwin O'Brien posted a column in " Thoughts on Our Church " entitled "Shall We Dance ." One poignant segment stated: Most in our culture, including Catholics, see laws as threatening their freedom, limiting rightful options, interfering with their privacy. No dancing in the street here! Our theology, on the other hand, sees man wounded by sin and in need of salvation. Divine help comes to us in Christ through the law that guides us and the grace that sustains us.
