New Catholic of RORATE CÆLI asks a fascinating question: what is going on in Austria ? Fr. Wagner apparently has NOT signed the letter asking his nomination be withdrawn as yet. Furthermore: Bishop Andreas Laun, Auxiliary of Salzburg, concludes that Father Wagner cannot be considered "unsuitable" to be a Bishop - and certainly not because of his declarations. And, New Catholic points out that the Vatican has as yet made no response. Read this fascinating story ! Is the Vatican refusing to budge on this appointment?

No authentic spirit of the council may set itself up against the letter of that same Council without disastrous results. The Holy Father's nominee is being used to attack the Pope by those who have placed themselves on the opposing side in the battle for the life of the Church. God grant them the grace to see the true danger in which they stand by opposing the Vicar of Christ . The co
