Visitors ask...Early Morning Prayers to Mary, the Mother of God?

An international visitor asked for "early morning prayers to Mary, the Mother of God." This is a key part of the Militia of the Immaculata, a Franciscan charism begun by St. Maximilian Kolbe and several seminarians and modeled after the beautiful consecration of St. Louis de Montfort. Each morning begins with a short "renewal" of this consecration which essentially makes your entire day a prayer lifted up to Jesus through Mary. Here are two other nice sites I found. One is a beautiful Marian Archive from the Franciscans with a great deal of information in various languages and with links to Marian prayers in Latin and English as well . The other is the Alpha Omega initiative by priests and laymen in German speaking countries .

Visitors ask...to see the Chapel at IND and who are the 'Monks' at EWTN

The Institute of Notre Dame is a parochial high school for women in Baltimore, Maryland . There are no photos of the Chapel, although there is a brief "shot" in this photo-montage on the home page of the Chapel during what looks like a graduation ceremony. The 'Monks' at EWTN are actually the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word . This is their website and has information on vocations. The Friars would be glad to hear from you, I'm sure.

Visitors ask...Religious Orders: Carmelites, Benedictines, Franciscans, Cistercians, Dominicans

A recurring "search term" which lands people on this blog is a term for any of a number of Religious Orders--especially those which continue to celebrate the TLM or the Usus Antiquior (or those living in Abbeys or Monasteries). The FAQs section of this blog is geared to answer recurring questions . That would include quite a few things. For Religious Orders, go here . I have tried to assemble as many Orders as I can find (including a "search form" for the Benedictines which is quite useful). Those seeking "Carmelites" can now find an ultimate destination, I pray. Monasteries and Abbeys Online

I am often "searched" for the location of a particular Abbey or Monastery online (and usually within the United States). I have just located two delightful websites! Both links have been added to the Favorites Sites in the right menu! This site is the official Order of Saint Benedict website which has a "search form" for locating Abbeys, Monasteries and Schools . This site is courtesy of Dr. Deborah Vess of Georgia College and State University. It has Monasteries located worldwide categorized by Religious Order and location . It is also marvelous!
