NLM: Changes in the Liturgy (OF) - All Sacramental Formulae in Latin?

Gregor Kollmorgen has dropped a bombshell over at The New Liturgical Movement. The post is from an article in the Italian weekly, "Panorama ." I'd take this with a grain of salt until confirmed. If Gregor has the jump on everyone, it will be one huge story!

NLM: Interactive Map of 'Scholas' and A Bishop Following the Holy Father

The New Liturgical Movement has two fabulous stories today. Don't miss either! The first post is an interactive map of "scholas" (American English for Scholae) that is international . Wonder where the nearest schola is located? Bookmark this page! You can add your own location if you have a schola! The second post is on Bishop Robert Morlino of Madison, WI : At the Corpus Christi Mass in the Diocese of Madison, Wisconsin, the local Bishop, H. E. the Most Reverend Robert C. Morlino, in his homily made express reference to the pope's example of three days before and encouraged everyone present and physically able to receive the Blessed Sacrament on their tongues and on their knees out of reverence on this solemn occasion. For this purpose, there not being an altar rail, kneelers were put in front of the sanctuary for Communion. Check the entire story . It is wonderful!

NLM: Osservatore Romano on New FSSP Rome Parish

Gregor Kollmorgen has translated an important story from " L'Osservatore Romano " concerning the new F.S.S.P. Parish established in Rome . The full title of Kollmorgen's post is "Osservatore Romano on New FSSP Rome Parish - An Example for Dioceses the World Over." This paragraph emphasizes the importance of the story: "This is an act disposed by the Pope for the diocese of Rome which has a value in itself, in the progressive path of putting into application the motu proprio on the Roman liturgy before the reform carried out in 1970," explains the president of the Vatican commission which deals with relations with the faithful attached to the previous Latin liturgical tradition, especially those so far in various ways related to the fraternity founded by Msgr Marcel Lefebvre who wish to remain united to the Successor of Peter in the Catholic Church. But - adds Cardinal Castrillón Hoyos - "the realization of a personal parish also has an

NLM: Cardinal Castrillón: Tradition Without Contestation

Gregor Kollmorgen of the New Liturgical Movement has a very insightful post . It arises from a liberal journal called " Jesus " and features an interview with Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos of the PCED. Here is part of the interview on the motu proprio , Summorum Pontificum : What are the questions that have arrived and would deserve an answer? "The first regards Latin, because - they say - to celebrate in a language which you do not know is not convenient. Unfortunately, the seminarians, but also some priests, have not studied it and therefore it is difficult for them to celebrate in the extraordinary form. To do so one should at least know the canon of the Mass , the part of the consecration. We in "Ecclesia Dei" are equipping ourselves and we are preparing meetings, courses and means of electronic communication for a deep knowledge of the earlier liturgy. Some courses are already being held in France, Germany, Brazil, Central America and the United Stat

Early Roundup - Monday, April 14th, 2008

Gregor Kollmorgen of The New Liturgical Movement translates the updated piece by Andrea Tornielli as it now stands to demonstrate why the issue of Curial changes may not be set in concrete . Tornielli is well connected in the Vatican, apparently, so his opinion is respected. Patrick Archbold of the Creative Minority Report is quite happy that Bishop Murphy has "coaxed" the restoration of the Tabernacle in Archbold's Parish back to where it belongs RORATE CAELI : Benedict XVI and the United States - America: The Moderate Way

Morning Roundup - Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Gregor Kollmorgen of The New Liturgical Movement has some "insider" information from Father Sean Finnegan of Heralds of the Gospel as to why the Papal Liturgies have changed so noticeably. Read his take on this here . Father John Zuhlsdorf of WDTPRS has posts (a) updating info on the Holy Father's new pastoral staff , (b) a marvelous article on Cardinal Arinze, Prefect of CDWDS, and his take on inculturation , and (c) a " quaeritur " concerning whether failing to put water in the chalice with the wine makes the consecration invalid .

RORATE CAELI: CONFIRMED-Personal Parish for the Traditional Mass in Rome

Kramer as its first parish priest. Read the story here !
