WDTPRS >> RORATE: on Summorum Pontificum, SSPX, unity - enlightening

Some of you must get the impression that this blog is simply WDTPRS (Eastern U.S. Annex). That is not true. Fr. John Zuhlsdorf posts some fascinating articles and comments and not everyone finds his blog. There was a story posted this morning, an interview, with Professor Luc Perrin, that I linked to on RORATE CAELI . Fr. Zuhlsdorf reads it critically and makes some interesting observations . One, in particular, is worth mentioning from the interview (the quote is taken as found on the WDTPRS blog; BOLD portions are from Fr. Zuhlsdorf, and RED portion s are HIS comments : However we should consider two facts that need time to be fully received by the Church. First fact: the status of the traditional Roman rite (Extraordinary Form) has been firmly settled as never before . [But some will complain that it isn’t becaues Benedict XVI changed the Good Friday prayer. They are wrong, of course, and this guy right. But that doesn’t change the grousing.] On the very long term,

RORATE CAELI: Cardinal Castrillón in the Archdiocese of Westminster

Earlier today, I posted a long narrative from The New Liturgical Movement which was an account of the visit of Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos to England . The Latin Mass Society of England and Wales has asked RORATE CAELI to post the links here to the "official documents" that the Society wishes to make available to the public . [I suspect that this is because the Society has been inundated for more information (even this little blog got a lot of traffic from the U.K. seeking information).] I am posting this link because it really is a link to the major and definitive repository.

RORATE CAELI: Exclusive - Interview with Bishop Richard Williamson

RORATE CAELI has a post on St. Paul the Confessor whose feast is traditionally this day according to the Roman Martyrology . I am off to a graduation within the hour. Light posting until Sunday night!

RORATE CAELI: "Never yield to compromises!"

RORATE CAELI has a post on the Holy Father's trip to Savona, Liturgia and his homily at the Papal Mass. He has included a transcript link to the homily, but has highlighted a portion of what Pope Benedict said as important to all Christians: As your Bishop has fairly observed, that dark page of the history of Europe became, by the power of the Holy Spirit, rich of graces and of teachings, even for our days. It teaches us the courage to confront the challenges of the world, Materialism, Relativism, Laicism, without ever yielding to compromises , willing to pay in person in order to remain faithful to the Lord and to his Church. The example of serene firmness given by Pope Pius VII invites us to keep the faith in God unchanged in the trials, in the knowledge that He, if also allowing difficult moments for his Church, never abandons her. The event lived by the great Pontiff in your land invites us to always trust in the intercession and in the maternal assistance of Mary Most H

RORATE CAELI: Press Release from the Latin Mass Society (U.K.)

Excellent news from the United Kingdom and a hat tip to New Catholic of RORATE CAELI ! John Medlin, General Manager of the Latin Mass Society, said, “There is no sign of slackening of demand for Traditional Rite Confirmations – in fact the opposite. The numbers are increasing every year and I expect this trend to continue after Pope Benedict’s Motu Proprio . We hope it will not be long before bishops all over England and Wales respond to pastoral demand for Mass and the Sacraments in the Traditional Rite. Those attached to the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite are very grateful to Cardinal Cormac and the Westminster auxiliary bishops for making provision for the Traditional Mass and Sacraments.” Read the entire story here .
