Local TLM Masses on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, June 11th

I received this email from my friend in the Traditional Latin Mass Group in Arlington and wish to pass it on: Friday (11 June) is the First Class Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There are diocesan Masses in the region: 1) a Low Mass at 8 AM at Saint Mary's in Washington, D.C.; and 2) a Low Mass at 7:30 PM at Saint Louis in the Fairfax County section of Alexandria, Va. There will also be a High Mass on Friday at St. John the Baptist in Front Royal, Va at 7 PM. One may gain a plenary indulgence Friday, under the usual conditions, by saying the Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus publicly in front of the Blessed Sacrament. On Saturday...a reminder! There will NOT be a 12 noon Mass at Holy Spirit in Annandale (it resumes on the 19th), but there will be a special 2 PM High Mass at Saint Bernadette's in Silver Spring, Md. Thanks to Ken!

Breaking - NLM: Extraordinary Form, Basilica of the National Shrine, Upper Church

Note: This post was edited to avoid confusion. Hat Tip to Matthew! Last year, I received email word (which proved to be unconfirmed and erroneous) that Dario Cardinal Castrillón Hoyos would celebrate a TLM at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C . This proved to be incorrect which was embarrassing for me. The NLM confirms tonight, however, that the Cardinal President Emeritus of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei , will celebrate the TLM on April 24th, 2010 at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C at 1:00 PM in the Upper Church . The calendar for the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception carries the announcement for this event . This is an event of momentous occasion and I pray that the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is filled to capacity. Laus Deo!

Live Stream Daily TLM from Christ the King Church, Sarasota, Florida

I received the F.S.S.P. newsletter today and found this exciting announcement: Christ the King Catholic Church, an Apostolate of the F.S.S.P. in Sarasota, Florida, now offers a daily live stream of the Traditional Latin Mass. The Chapel received the permission of Bishop Dewane of the Diocese of Venice to allow this Mass to be "streamed." The l ink is posted above in the blue header and is also linked here . I am not sure how much bandwidth the site has, but hope it can accommodate those who wish to view the Mass. In times when the Mass is not offered, the viewing screen will be black.

My Heart Was Restless: FI Solemn Professions in the Roman-Seraphic Ritual at Lanherne in Cornwall

A good friend sent me this link and I'm happy he did. This is from a beautiful blog from Yorkshire, England written by Jane Teresa . The story begins: Here is a selection of pictures showing the Franciscans of the Immaculate Solemn Professions in the older form of the Roman-Seraphic Rite which took place on the transferred Solemnity of St. Clare on Tuesday 11th August. I took the pictures during my five-day retreat at the contemplative convent of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel at Lanherne in Cornwall. The photo-essay continues from there . It is quite beautiful!
