WDTPRS >> Some movie quotes (this began as a post of some famous movie quotes when Fr. Zuhlsdorf opined that it might be time to end WDTPRS. Is he really considering shutting down? Is he thinking of doing a new blog? Stay tuned...) www.Chiesa: Focus >> Vatican Radio and the Web, a Happy Marriage (Sandro Magister) St. Peter Canisius Apostolate >> Vocation and Mission The New Liturgical Movement >> ICEL, Royalty Question Update (ICEL responds and Jeffrey Tucker writes back...) Catholic Review Online: Number of new seminarians hits new high

I've said it before... Some stories just make you smile. This was posted today on the Catholic Review Online by George P. Matysek, Jr . FOURTEEN young men have stepped forward to enter the priesthood. Read the fabulous story here . Praise God! Please pray for them. If we want Shepherds, we must ask Our Lord and His Mother to find us many more!

Standing of My Head >> Feast of the Transfiguration (I believe I understand that to which Fr. Longenecker is pointing. I once heard it said somewhere that during Mass, there is barely room for the priest what with all the Thrones, Dominations and Saints present...) The Way of the Fathers >> Pict Clean (Titles by Aquilina!)

WDTPRS >> Catholic Herald on desecrated Host

Father John Zuhlsdorf posts an article from the Catholic Herald by Anna Arco and then comments on the post . The consecrated host was apparently obtained from the Brompton Oratory. The comments to this post are excellent. Needless to say, Masses of Reparation were said. I, for one, suggest continued and daily prayers for those who perpetrate such deeds.

Summorum Pontificum: Advocatus Diaboli: Prelude by David L. Alexander

This is an excellent essay . It is a MUST read . The quote from Saint John Chrysostom's homily is most appropriate. I look forward to the rest in this series of articles. Well done!

The Catholic Thing: Pig and Man: Intellectual Equals? by George Marlin

George Marlin writes in response to an article by Nicholas Kristof in the New York Times . It is an eye-popping article and an excellent lesson in history.

The 'Benedictine' Altar Arrangement: "Conversi ad Dominum"

Image
I was speaking with a Parish Pastor and good friend, and he told me that in his little corner of the world, he had adopted the "Benedictine Arrangement." The people loved it. It was, he believed, more conducive to an appreciation for and increased devotion of the Holy Eucharist which he felt was lacking. The New Liturgical Movement and What Does the Prayer Really Say? both followed this development closely. Shawn Tribe often showed a Mass--whether inside or outside the Vatican--in which this arrangement was used . The phenomenon has been noted by many in the blogosphere as this list can attest ; the arrangement is spreading to more Parishes now. It is no wonder that this was adopted by Cardinal George Pell during WYD . I hope to see more of this. The rationale for this arrangement is clear . It is clearly something dear to the heart of our Holy Father.
