“Ubi Petrus, Ibi Ecclesia, Ibi Deus”
10 Episcopal nuns in Archdiocese of Baltimore to join Catholic Church
This story was first posted by Shawn Tribe of New Liturgical Movement and I posted it in June, 2009. The Catholic Review has now released the full details (this story was also linked by Fr. John Zuhlsdorf of WDTPRS).
George P. Matysek, Jr. details the faith journey of ten Society of All Saints Sisters of the Poor who are entering the Church on September 3rd in a Mass celebrated by His Excellency Archbishop Edwin O'Brien. In a follow-up story, Matysek details the fact that a "Diocesan Institute" (the first in Baltimore) will be formed.
Please read both stories and don't miss the slide show of the good Sisters. Several priests are learning to say the Anglican-Use liturgy.

Mac of Mulier Fortis has "tagged me" for a list of "Things I'd like to see..." She added this slight "nudge":
Deo Volente, compiling lists of Traditional Latin Masses in Maryland, just in case he wants to have a go in between cutting and pasting Mass propers... though he probably won't."What are the seven things that we, as Catholics, want or would like to see happen?"
Okay, here is my list of Seven Things I'd like to see... :
- I am in agreement with Fr. Thomas Euteneuer, President of Human Life International. I would love to see the USCCB by "unanimous agreement" ask the U.S. faithful to recite the "Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel" after every Sunday Mass for the cessation of abortion in the U.S. and around the world. The prayer cards are available on the HLI.org website.
- I am in agreement with Fr. John Corapi who has labeled abortion as "genocide." I would love to see the USCCB by "unanimous agreement" ask the faithful to abstain from meat every Friday for penance, and to fast the first Friday of every month in reparation for those who have participated in performing an abortion or for the healing of many of those who are suffering the aftereffects of this procedure.
- I would like to see that every Diocese in the U.S. have at least one TLM Mass offered at a Parish every Sunday and, ultimately, a daily TLM to be started in that Diocese as well.
- I would like to see every Seminary in the U.S. require extensive courses in Latin and Greek, and also ensure that Patristics texts and courses in both Philosophy and Theology use the original texts where possible.
- I would like to see a Liturgical consensus on which musical instruments are appropriate for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. I pray that the guitar, for one, be declared as unsuitable, and to find that the organ or the human voice engaged in singing Chant are recommended as the most appropriate instruments.
- I would like to see "Communion in the hand" be declared "reprobare" by the Holy See.
- I would see that every Catholic Church in the United States would return the tabernacle to the center of the altar and not see a "presider's chair" in its place. Only then will respect for the Eucharist return with voices hushed and with thoughts turned to God as soon we enter Church.

Notice on Posting
Dear Friends,
Due to my heavy schedule, I will now be posting perhaps one summary per day, but I will try to continue posting the Latin Mass Propers in the evening. The course schedule will not allow me to check my sources as frequently as I'd like. Weekends will afford me a bit more time. It is possible that some days, I will be unable to post at all. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Visitors ask..."TLM Mass for a Catholic Marine"
I never know what awaits in the search queue. I am not certain if this individual is a Marine looking for a TLM or is asking what Mass is appropriate for a Catholic Marine?
Saints.SQPN.com has a listing of the Patron Saints of soldiers. Of those listed, Saint Michael the Archangel is the Patron Saint of the Marines. The Feast of Saint Michael in the Traditional Calendar is September 29th, and is the 'Missa Benedicta, Dominum.' The Propers for that Mass can be found here and follows the 1962 Roman Missal.
Hope that helps. I'm sure a Chaplain could be of more help. I'd be sure to ask one.
