Catholic Review Online: National pro-life postcard campaign to be supplemented by e-mails (CNS)

The Catholic Review Online carries a story from CNS about a website initiated by the USCCB facilitating the sending of "Pro-Life" emails to members of Congress.

The campaign supplements the national postcard campaign begun in dioceses throughout the country in late January. Both efforts are being coordinated through the Washington-based National Committee for a Human Life Amendment.

“Tens of millions of cards have been distributed in parishes, schools, non-Catholic churches and civic organizations across the country,” said Deirdre A. McQuade, assistant director for policy and communications at the USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities, in a news release.

“The e-mail campaign will give even more citizens the chance to participate,” she added.

The e-mails, which can be sent from the USCCB’s Web site at, contain the same message as the postcards.

“At this time of serious national challenges, Americans should unite to serve the good of all, born and unborn,” they say, urging members of Congress to oppose the Freedom of Choice Act “or any similar measure” and to “retain existing laws against funding and promotion of abortion.”
